Autumn Interior design

Warm, cosy colours are making a significant comeback in interior design, with rich shades of cream and brown leading the way. As autumn swiftly approaches and our gardens shift from vibrant greens to harvest hues of pumpkin orange, deep plum purples, and golden corn, our homes transform into cosy sanctuaries away from the cold and wet weather.

While lighting a few autumn scented candles and the fireplace is a classic approach, there are additional design techniques that can enhance the autumnal atmosphere indoors, just as nature does outdoors.

Season Colour

Make a bold statement with colours and add depth to your walls by experimenting with different tile finishes to introduce texture and interest. Velvety matte or satin Tiles are perfect for indulging in rich, sumptuous autumn decor that envelops a room.

This choice is ideal for bedrooms, creating a gentle and mellow ambience, even if the colour initially seems intense for a calming space. Use a high sheen gloss in the kitchen to add contrast and texture.

Pattern

Enjoy natural handmade tile motifs of flowers and leaves to create a beautiful synergy between colour and pattern. There’s no need to stick strictly to traditional tiles floral graphic design tones; leafy designs in browns, oranges, and yellows are also excellent for bringing the outdoors in. Bold florals can be softened with plum and damson shades. Don’t hesitate to mix these botanical designs, observe how they harmonise with nature, and reflect that harmony inside your home.

Match the intensity of each colour decoration so it is deep and warm, selecting one as the standout, such as plums or reds, and then incorporating highlights of orange and yellow tones. Adding a green or blue touch, as seen in the natural world, will help unite the design.

Autumn Colours

In reality, some of the cosiest autumn days are overcast. These are the early days after summer when we crave a hearty bowl of soup and, finally, pull on that woolly jumper we’ve neglected since spring. These are the days when we first feel a chill in the evenings and prefer to stay cuddled up on the sofa. When a brisk walk sounds more appealing than lounging on a blanket in the park, this is the autumn we feel nostalgic for as the weather changes.

Traditional autumn design colours have charm, but rich tones like these don’t always translate well in interior design and may not work year round. While fiery or earthy tones can add warmth and interest to a space, fully committing to this palette can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially outside of the autumn months. A terracotta infused space may have its romance. Still, such rich shades can quickly become too busy and dominant, particularly in a relaxed bathroom.

With this in mind, we’ve curated an entirely new colour décor inspired by this season of change. We call it “the new autumn.”

Interior design trends for autumn

Featuring crisp sky blues, moody greys, and mossy greens, our fresh take on the autumnal colour palette celebrates cooler, damper days that make us feel warm and snug inside. We were inspired by sprouting mushrooms, moss, lichen, misty mornings, and longer evenings when designing this collection.

This interior design trends is designed to be harmonious and to sit comfortably in your favourite spaces without becoming overpowering even beyond the autumn season. Unlike the strong tones of a traditional autumn neutral palette, our new autumn inspired collection is chic and adaptable, offering a seasonally inspired design that looks elegant all year round.

Its versatility allows you to experiment and create unique, personalised spaces. The calming blues, soothing greens, and warm greys can create a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere in your kitchen, no matter the season.
