Fired tiles are waterproof, so a mural can go inside a shower enclosure, behind a bath or on a feature wall. The print is fired into the glaze, so shampoo, limescale cleaner and daily steam won’t lift it. Many of our tile murals end up in bathrooms, from a small panel above the bath to a full wall in a wet room.

For a shower, we’d choose porcelain, as it’s the more durable of the two. The tiles are fired, so they’re waterproof and stand up to the cleaners a bathroom needs. You fit them with waterproof adhesive and grout, just like any wall tile. Gloss and satin matt both work well in a shower, so pick whichever finish you like.
Plan the design around the shower valve, the niche and the screen, and mark them on the wall sizes you send us. We’ll keep faces and focal points well away from the fittings and off the grout joints.
We print bathroom murals on ceramic or porcelain tiles from 10x10cm upwards, including 15x15cm (about 6×6 inches) and 20x20cm. Every tile is numbered on the front and matches a fitting map, so your tiler knows where each one goes. Before we print anything, you’ll get a layout to approve. Send a high-resolution photo, and we’ll check that it’s sharp enough for the mural size before quoting. Narrow joints and a grout colour that suits the design help the picture read as one image.

We print your image as a ceramic decal, apply it to each tile by hand, and kiln-fire it at 900°C in Somerset. The pigments fuse into the glaze so that the colours won’t fade in a sunny bathroom, and they come with our 50-year UV guarantee.
A mural costs from £423 per m² inc VAT (£352.50 + VAT), including printing. On orders under £120 inc VAT (£100 + VAT), we add a £36 inc VAT (£30 + VAT) setup charge. A sample tile of your own image is £12 inc VAT (£10 + VAT), and you get that back when you order the mural. Most murals take 1 to 3 weeks after you approve the layout.
